Below are the steps to get an Apostille for your birth certificate in New York City.

Step 1. Obtain the Birth Certificate.

Secure a certified copy of your birth certificate record from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. You must also request a certified Letter of Exemplification when ordering the paper.

Step 2. Authentication by the County Clerk.

You may submit your documents to the County Clerk of New York County, by mail or in person. If you indulge in person, the processing of your documents will be immediate.
